    Todd. There are more parts to seize in an engine than just the pistons.
    On an engine that has been sitting in one place for 15 years it is likely
    that some of the valves are also stuck open, so even if you are fortunate
    enough to free the piston rings from the bores, it is highly likely that
    you will then run into problems with the valves. Fortunately on a LR the
    valves are vertical so if they do get hit by the piston it tends to push
    them back in. I agree with John, take the top off and do the job
    properly, it will need doing sometime, ebven if you manage to get it
    going it will probably have lots of crank case pressure and burn oil, why
    not start out doing it right.
