Can anyone help; I tried using Black Beauty 12/40 mesh (medium grade) to
sandblast the bulkhead and the resulting pattern seems to be too coarse to
give a good finish? I test primed it and it seems like the surface will
smooth out with some sanding. Can anyone give me some insight on blasting
the bulkhead? Is the surface left after blasting with the medium black
beauty good enough for the bulkhead? Or do I need to step down to a fine
grade? I am using a self-etching primer, primer and then a sprayed enamel.
I not looking for a showroom finish, though. Just want to take the time to
treat the bulkhead right as it is original to the Series with only minor
surface rust and no repairs required.
