I've got a great book here - a Brooklands Books collection of road tests of
the SII and SIIa from various magazines around the world. Here are a few

Sports Car Illustrated, 1961
109 Station Wagon: $3880 (West Coast)
Heater, oil/water gauge, hand throttle, second windshield wiper brought the

Also quotes Land Cruiser at $3365, 101" Jeep about $2500

estimated value for 2001 found at
http://minneapolisfed.org/economy/calc/hist1913.html, the price comes to
$19,383. Even that expensive 109 at $4095 in 1961 comes out to $25,118.
